So some interesting matches on the card for sure, and some not so interesting (number 3 I’m looking at you). Matches 7 and 8 I am most curious about as I can’t really comprehend why either match is taking place. Hopefully the DG bookers have something planned because nothing makes sense there at all. The triangle gate match has potential match of the night written all over it and I’m glad Iwasa is back in a title hunt so soon after his return. KAMIKAZE were kind of hurting without him.

Quick predictions: I’ll go Kong over Boy, Butcher over Stalker, Shenlong over MAZADA, Kzy over Naoki, Akebono over KAGE, Iwasa over Hulk, Ryo over Shingo (due to YAMATO backstab) and finallly… Doi beating CIMA.

We’ll see how close I am next week. Feel free to make your own predictions in the comments.

Dragon Gate news
  • I think it’ll be Kong over BOY
Butcher squashes Stalker with plenty of comedy
Match 3- Who cares? lol…Mori with the pin
I think Naoki will go over in this sleeper match
W5 to get the next Triangle Gate title shot
World 1 to retain Triangle Gate, Yoshino over Towaza
Ryo and Genki to retain. I agree that YAMATO will turn on Shingo
And in the main event, DGs golden Boy, CIMA, to win it all

My feelings regarding the main are that they seem to really really want to make Doi the ace but no one seems to be buying it, even after wins over Kanemoto and Akebono. If Doi beats CIMA and holds both belts then really who can deny him ace status?

I don’t know personally though if I’d buy it. Either outcome doesn’t really sit well with me which is why I’m confused by the whole thing.

  • Doi isn’t a credible champion. Don’t get me wrong, he’s a great worker but his title matches haven’t been exciting at all. Also, you know he’s going to win when they’re bringing outsiders in to face him. I think CIMA should of dropped the Brave Gate to Tozawa back along. Kinda a waste to have it in the main event as well as the Dream Gate.
I should think Genki has a few things up his sleeve booking wise for the show. He’s done great with setting up angles and turns in the last year.

I’ll agree with you on Doi, but I think a lot of people were surprised when he beat Kanemoto. CIMA basically should never have had the Brave Gate in the first place. Yoshino had built that belt around him so they could have (and SHOULD have) used the belt to bring someone who needs a push up. Someone like Tozawa, or hell, even Iwasa.

I’m also pretty concerned that apart from Magnitude’s run with the Dream Gate there have been no rudo champions. A heel YAMATO would have been perfect beating Doi at World… oh well. I guess we’ll now never know.
