The summer is here and in Dragon Gate that means it must be time for the Summer Adventure Tag League! The teams have been announced for the third annual Tag League (thanks Sobaku-chama):

Summer Adventure Tag League III
・Naruki Doi & Naoki Tanizaki
・Masato Yoshino & BxB Hulk
・CIMA & Gamma
・Susumu Yokosuka & KAGETORA
・Shingo Takagi & YAMATO
・Dragon Kid & Tozawa
・Yasushi Kanda & Arai
・Cyber Kong & Kzy
・Mochizuki Masaaki & X

It runs between the 1st and 21st of August. Obvious team to keep an eye on would be Shingo and YAMATO, but I find it interesting they split up Speed Muscle, so I’d say also keep a sly eye on the Yoshino/Hulk team. For some reason I have a strong feeling about Susumu and KAGETORA but I have no reasons to back that up. Hopefully my hunch will pay off as I think KAGE is a great talent and I’d like to see him gain some momentum again. Not much personality in that team though ;)

Of note is the exclusion of Iwasa, who previous lit this league on fire with Arai. I wonder if his injury is still nagging him or if there is some other reason I’m not aware of. I guess he could partner with Mochi but that wouldn’t make a whole lot of sense so we’ll have to see what happens.

Apologies for the wait on the World show. I know everyone is itching to see it. I’ve got the full show but am at the mercy of Megavideo as to when it finally becomes available to view.

Winner of the Tag League gets a Twin Gate shot, I assume?

  • Dragon Kid

I’m pulling for KAGE/Susumu on this too, it’s a damn shame how far Susumu has fallen considering his talent and ability, he’s definitely one of my favs from DG in recent years.

  • Seth

Yes the winner gets a shot at Genki/Ryo, hence why they are not entered.

Also, Susumu has been in one of the biggest storylines (if DG has such things) of the year with his rivalry with Ryo so I wouldn’t exactly say he’s fallen. He isn’t good enough to be at the top all the time in my opinion so I’d say he’s pretty much where he should be right now.

  • Dragon Kid

I just think Susumu is a great all rounder with a good luck and he excels in big matches (such as the one with Ryo in 2006 and the one with Shingo last year). I suppose it was a fair big storyline (and well done too) and I really enjoyed what was shown of the Hakata match. Did their rematch every make it to infinity?

  • Seth

    I don’t believe so.

I actually don’t think they handled the singles match that well. The amount they built it up and the fan reaction to Ryo’s heel turn really lent itself to a big match blowout. No offense to Hakata Star Lanes, but it really should have been at Sumo Hall instead of that TERRIBLE twin gate match.

    Oh well.

  • Dragon Kid

I wish that match had have made air, I love me some Ryo vs Yokosuka! I know what you mean, the turn and angle where handled really well, they both seemed more over because of it. The Sumo Hall tag match could have built the feud up more but…man. They just had a bad match that night. I suppose they kind of made up for it in the Ryo/Genki vs Kanda/Aria vs Susumu/Gamma match at Dead or Alive.

Any more news on when Kobe World will be up? I’m really excited to see how the undercard turned out!

Unfortunately Megavideo is taking forever to process these videos. This sometimes happens. If anyone has suggestions for other video hosting sites that allow you to embed video, has ~1gb upload and unlimited time please let me know!

Gah such a pain. I uploaded it two days ago. Sorry about this.

  • MonkeyMan

Since it’s Megavideo, is there a way to just post Megaupload links? I really want to see the undercard.

  • Seth

I generally upload to Megavideo rather MegaUpload so I don’t have download links until it is ready to be viewed.

Pain in the ass to be sure. Currently looking for more services but I’ve still got 3 more months on my Megavideo/Upload paid subscription.

  • MonkeyMan

Ah, ok. I was thinking that Megavideo and Megaupload were one in the same. Thanks for doing what you’re doing either way though.

  • Seth

They are connected but if I upload to MV I have to wait until it is converted until it is available via MU. Conversely, if I upload to MU I have to wait until it’s available on MV.

I’m going to do some tests to see if uploading FLVs will be quicker to convert (since it doesn’t need to convert), but that will take me much longer to get the videos ready and is generally a bit of a pain in the ass.

I’ll figure something out. Just growing pains is all :)
