It’s time to get back to our roots. Let’s go all the way back to 1999, where it all began. Starting this Tuesday I am going to begin a new series called Toryumon Tuesdays in which I will post the weekly Vamanos Amigos starting with the very first one. For those that don’t know this was the precursor to Dragon Gate’s Infinity,  although unlike Infinity it was not weekly. I will do my best to try and keep up to date (so to speak) with these but you may have to excuse the occasional delayed week or three.

For those who began watching this promotion as Dragon Gate this should be a very exciting series and I hope you will do your best to watch it as most will probably agree that the quality of the matches are generally higher than Dragon Gate’s are currently.

I hope you all enjoy the shows and please make sure to let everyone know what you think in the comments of each one.

    awesome!

  • Are you starting with the pre-Vamanos Amigos Toryumon TV episodes from 1999? If so that’s awesome.

Also, aside from Crazy Max I have to completely disagree that the quality of matches was better than it is now. A lot of the guys had almost no experience under their belts in 1999 and everything was very, very basic.

I am starting with pre-VamoAmi yes and you’re right that at that point the quality wasn’t that great, but I’m more talking about Toryumon in general. There actually aren’t that many shows aired each year so it won’t take long before we get to the really good stuff anyway.

    • Fair point. I think early on its like 8-12 shows a year. either way, pumped to watch everything.
