Toryumon 2000 Project (T2P), 19.11.01
Time to start a new collection series and this time, we will be focusing on the Toryumon 2000 Project, or T2P.
T2P was started by Ultimo Dragon in 2001 to showcase the talents of his new class of trainees. What made T2P special was their innovative wrestling style, which was a combination of lucha libra and extremely complicated submission holds. The style is known as llave. To further add to the unique flavour of this promotion, the matches were held in a 6 sided ring, a ring later adopted by American promotion, TNA Wreslting.
T2P gave birth to some of the great junior stars currently wrestling today, in both Dragon Gate and all across the Japanese wrestling world. Stars such as Masato Yoshino, Naruki Doi, the Aagan Iisou unit and of course, Milano Collection AT were all T2P graduates.
In this series we will recount all the T2P shows including what I, and many others, consider to be the greatest PPV Toryumon (or Dragon Gate) has ever put on when T2P invades Toryumon in August of 2002. This is wrestling unlike anything you have ever seen before and it is sad that the majority of the alumni no longer wrestle the style. So enjoy this T2P series and relive one of the greatest eras in the Toryumon/Dragon Gate history.
