Dragon Gate Kobe WORLD 7/11/2010

Dragon Gate’s most important show of the year is upon us and contains some monumental matches on the card. Celebrating his tenth year as a professional wrestler and one of the most popular in the company since his debut, Yoshino still hasn’t held the title that all others covet; the Open the Dream Gate belt. His dream has always been to headline World and win the belt, but will he be able to make it past the currently white hot champion YAMATO – the man who dethroned Yoshino’s friend and tag partner, Naruki Doi?

Elsewhere former friends but now bitter rivals, Shingo Takagi and BxB Hulk go at it in a hair vs hair match. Having already retired the Hulk entrance dance, will we see the end of what we all know as BxB? Shingo promises to win and send Hulk back to exhibition matches, but will Hulk overcome and move onto being another main event player? This could be a defining moment of his career either way.

Also keep an eye on the currently tumultuous Naoki Tanisaki who is having some heel streaks as of late as well as KneSuka defending their Twin Gate belts against the veterans Mochi and Fujii. And who is that in match 3? A possible new wrestler who we’ve never seen before??

Toryumon Kobe World 2002

I’m going to try and start getting more of my back catalog onto the site. There won’t be much order to it, just whatever takes my fancy at the time. Since World is coming up soon I thought it fitting to post another World show, this time from 2002 and thus, Toryumon. Dead or Alive 2010, 05.05.2010

Dream Gate champion YAMATO puts his title on the line against recent King of Gate winner, and fellow KAMIKAZE member, Shingo Takagi. Elsewhere WORLD-1 and WARRIORS clash but with a returning, and slightly confused Ryo Saito, while the Triangle Gate titles are on the line against the, as yet, untitled Deep Drunkers team. Internal strife continues also within KAMIKAZE as Akira Tozawa and Cyber Kong battle to send the loser back to wrestling in untelevised dark matches.

Toryumon El Numero Uno 2003

Jae is doing a #DGThrowback week on Twitter and with the resurgence of H.A.G.E. and King of Gate just around the corner it seemed very appropriate for our next look down memory lane to be El Numero Uno 2003.

For those not in the know, El Numero Uno is what King of Gate used to be before Dragon Gate. This specific one is very special to a lot of people and I think not many would argue is the best the company has put on. Mainly for one specific reason and that is the rise of the HAGE army!
