So why should you care? Well Infinity 222 is the King of Gate finals which is always a big event every year, and 225 contains an ODG defense with Yasushi Kanda challenging his old M2K partner and reigning champion, Massaki Mochizuki. Speaking of cataloguing, I also intend to start it all again. For now I’ll leave it at that but hopefully there will be some exciting things coming for the Dragon System purists among you.

Sorry friends, I’ve been as notoriously absent as Dragon Gate Infinities have been these days, for which I apologise.

Not least of all to NickSym who very graciously wrote up a great post on his time at GATE OF MAXIMUM, of which I have yet to post! Eek sorry! I will be getting to this very shortly. Also, thanks to ryo saiba and Mark for posting some links to some missing Infinities. I’ll also get them up on the site for all you streaming fans.

Apart from that there isn’t a whole lot going on right now in DG. World is coming up with Hulk in the main event against Mochi which should be… well, let’s face it, make or break time for Hulk. A poor showing here and really I see no ace position in his future. CIMA’s contract is up post World so who knows if that will impact things. Will he re-sign or will he make his way around the Japanese federations? Maybe a stint in the US? Who knows. If he moves on then there will be an ace spot sitting right there. Who could possibly fill his shoes?

So again, many apologies for the lack of updates. It’s summer and I’m busy at work and at life. I’ll try and keep the content coming as best I can though.

It is hard to believe that we have two years under our belt at Open the Dragon Gate now, but that’s the reality, and with that we have to keep moving forward.

So as you can see we are now on the third iteration of the website and I hope that you will agree that it is bigger and better than ever before. I was looking at the main objectives of the website and it was clear that the videos, which were the main draw, were not being showcased enough. Also, I want the site to be a bit more comprehensive in the information it provides.

To that end I have been working on redoing the roster pages quite extensively. Unfortunately, due to the amount of work involved I wasn’t able to complete many during the downtime so I will be updating these a few at a time. I’ll be sure to call out when there is new content so you don’t need to keep checking though. For now Masato Yoshino, K-ness., Taku Iwasa and Dr Muscle are the only fully complete pages.

What else is new? Well I have now made registration necessary for commenting. Feel free to sign up, give yourself an avatar and start chatting away.

The site isn’t fully complete yet however. There are quite a few issues, both large and small I intend to get figured out. They can range from older posts not yet updated to the new format, to some things just missing content. I had planned to have it all up and complete before relaunching but it was really all just too much work for one person to do alone in a short space of time, and the site was down too long already. So it will be an ongoing process for now I’m afraid.

So you’re probably thinking to yourself right now, this is all too good to be true. “What can I do to help out?”. Well the first thing is just be commenting. Letting me know you’re out there, what you like and what you don’t helps keep the motivation up. But also you will notice the Share buttons at the bottom of each page. Whether you Tweet, Digg or just want to Facebook (is there a verb for that?) us, it would be greatly appreciated. Anything you can do to spread the word and bring in new people is a real help. Also clicking on the banners (when they come back) will also be fantastic.

Anyway, feel free to sit back and put your feet up. There are marshmallows on the table and I’ve just put a fresh log on the fire. Open the Dragon Gate version 3… START.

Within the next day or so I’ll be taking the site down for a little while. We shouldn’t be gone for too long, maybe a day or two at max.

You’ve obviously all noticed the lack of content updates lately, for which I’m sorry. Unfortunately there aren’t many sources of Dragon Gate available these days so it is becoming increasingly difficult to find new material.

However, this hopefully will all be changing soon as I will be looking to other ways to bringing this content to you. Infinities 205-209 will be on their way. I cannot put a timeline on this though so you will just have to remain patient for now.

In the mean time I do still intend to get some older Toryumon/Dragon Gate matches up, I just haven’t gotten around to it yet. Please hold tight for now.

I am also looking into more ways to improve the site but these things are still in the planning stages so you won’t see them for a while. If you have any suggestions though on things you would like to see from this site please feel free to leave them in the comments.

I hope that you all have taken the time to donate towards the earthquake relief in Japan in some way.
