Further Info

Dragon Gate Is a unit based company, where factions are a major part of all storylines. Generally there is usually one technico (babyface, or good guys) faction and one rudo (heel, or bad guys) faction along with one or two units that act as tweeners and can go either way depending on who they are wrestling. There are also those who are unaligned, and they generally team together as tecnicos.

The number 1 technico group in Dragon Gate. Originally formed by Naruki Doi and Masato Yoshino, Doi has since left turning rudo in the process leaving current reigning Open the Dream Gate champion, Yoshino as the leader. Naoki Tanizaki also turned on them shortly before Doi leaving only 2 strong members along with rookie Kotoka. However, at the end of 2010 Yoshino officially asked K-ness and Susumu Yokosuka to join, which they accepted.

Formed by Shingo Takagi to show off the power of Japan, this has been a very solid group since it’s inception. With the inclusion of YAMATO and a returning Cyber Kong, as well as former WARRIORS member KAGETORA, this is arguably the strongest group in Dragon Gate. When Akira Tozawa officially returns from his training this group will be a very formidable team indeed.

Originally called WARRIORS-5, due to the number of members, this quickly changed after a it was clear not all the members were happy to be here, namely KAGETORA. CIMA and Gamma were the driving force behind this team, which is known for being a little more “fun” than some of the other groups. Bright colours and their trademark “Uuuu!!” really bring the crowd into their matches. With the recent inclusion of MarahaIsappa (Genki Horiguchi and Ryo Saito), and the high flying Dragon Kid, this group is always a crowd favourite.

After the failed Deep Drunkers fell apart due to a lack of leadership, their numbers began to swell as Naoki Tanizaki joined them, shortly followed by Naruki Doi, who turned on his longtime teammate Yoshino. With the recent induction of Gamma into their ranks, they certainly won’t be left with any leadership issues this time around, despite Doi and Gamma both sharing leadership and having problems doing so with Muscle Outlawz. This group is the sole rudo group in Dragon Gate but are going from strength to strength with frightening speed.

The rest of Dragon Gate is mainly made up of veterans (Mochizuki, Fujii and Araken) as well as the young lions (Shisa Boy, Super Shenlong) and comedy wrestlers (Stalker, Sychahiko Machine, Florida Brothers). Although not belonging to any formal faction, whenever Mochi and Fujii are involved in title hunts, they are always a force that needs to be taken seriously.
